How a Community can Help you!

Good day my dear readers! My busy weekend has finally ended with a blast! We had our Provincial Youth Conference and it was great and awesome to see people from different places in our province gather to praise and glorify God's name. I am so blessed to be in this community.

Being in a community is great! You get to share your life and learn from others too! Meeting new friends and having fun with them is a good thing. Being able to talk to different types of personalities and understanding those types and trying to help them. We need to be with other people because man cannot stand alone. That's why God created Eve so that Adam won't be lonely and will have a companion to talk to and share things with.

I remember during my elementary days when I was being bullied. It was like the worse thing in my life. Being alone and choosing to be one by rejecting people who wants to be my friend because I believed that I can reach my goals being alone. But this belief slowly turned out to be a lie as I was able to meet people, especially in the PYA (Parish Youth Apostolate) and YFC (Youth for Christ) communities. I slowly understood the importance of having friends and how they can help me in my struggles in life and how they can help me know God and His teachings.

For those who are in a christian community already, good for you and keep your faith intact and help your community grow. And for those who are not in a christian community yet, join one near you. I promise you that your life would be easier and would be more blessed having more friends that would help you grow in God's way.

I also found this site where you can connect with other Christians from around the world through their christian chat rooms. It has free registration and is user-friendly. You can search for my username, earlsombilon, and add it to your favorites.

God bless everyone! Choose your community wisely! Keep your faith intact! I love you guys!

Been Busy!

Good day guys! I wasn't able to update my blog due to being busy on lot of things. First of all is my enrollment which lasted for two days. I also attended a weekend overnight activity of our diocese called the Diocesan Youth Sports fest which featured youth from all over our diocese playing with each other through sports; basketball, badminton and volleyball. It is a good way to inculcate sportsmanship and unity in our very harsh world today. We won 3 awards; 1st runner-up in badminton (men doubles and women doubles) and also 1st runner-up in basketball(men). It was a fun activity. We were fostered to some local residents in the area in which they provided us shelter to stay during the night. By the way it was held at Kauswagan, Lanao del Norte. I was a member of the animators/entertainers/dancers during the event.(LOL)

Lastly, we are getting prepared for our PYC, Provincial Youth Conference. This is also a weekend overnight event which will be participated by youth all over our province. There will be different activities during the event which we will participate. There will be sports like badminton, basketball, etc. We will also participate in the larong lahi (local games) like tumbang preso, kadang kadang, etc. There will also be cultural events including set dance, acapella and video gag. I hope it would be a successful event in which all will have a great time together meeting new friends and showing their talents in the process. But one thing is for sure, the event will be offered to one audience only, to God.

Having a busy schedule is not that bad. You just have to manage your time and schedule things properly. And ofcourse, pray to God and ask for His guidance for only in Him we can do all of things properly. God bless to all of us!

Song - Who am I?

Good day everyone! I would just like to share one of my favorite songs. The title is Who Am I by Casting Crowns. I like this song because it tells us that we are not alone in all our struggles and successes. That He is always there for us. And that we are His. Whatever we do, or not do, we are still His son/daughter and He will always be helping us.

I promise you that you would really like the song. The lyrics is very meaningful. I included the chords for those who know how to play the guitar.

Who Am I?
Casting Crowns

Intro: G C Em D (2x)
G D Em
Who am I? That the Lord of all the earth,
D C D C D
Would care to know my name, would care to feel my hurt,
G D Em
Who am I? That the bright and morning star,
D C D C D
Would choose to light the way, for my ever wondering heart,
Em D C D
Not because of who I am, but because of what You've done,
Em D C D
Not because of what I've done, but because of who You are

CHORUS

G D Em D C
I am a flower quickly fading, here today and gone tomorrow
D C D G
A wave tossed in the ocean, a vapor in the wind
D Em D C
Still You hear me when I'm calling, Lord, You catch me when I'm falling,
D C D
And you've told me who I am, I am Yours.

G C Em D

Who am I? That the eyes that see my sin,
Would look on me with love, and watch me rise again
Who am i? That the voice that calmed the sea,
Would call out through the rain, and calm the storm in me
Not because of who I am, but because of what You've done
Not because of what I've done, but because of who You are

Repeat CHORUS

God bless us all and always remember that all of this things are not our will but His. Keep your faith intact guys! Happy listening and playing! Love you guys!

Open Forum - Reconciliation!

Good day my friends! Thank God another day has passed by! Have you ever been in a situation where you have a misunderstanding with someone. Having a conflict with someone whom you treasure? Do you find it difficult to tell your friend how you feel? Are you afraid that your friendship might be broken if you tell him/her?

In a group, conflicts are inevitable and is a common occurence. Conflict may result from a disagreement, difference of beliefs, values and the likes. Most of the times, conflict arise from misunderstandings; where one person's action maybe perceived differently from what was really being meant. Technology also plays a role in some conflicts where text messages, emails, chat messages, etc. is usually misunderstood because it contains less of the sender's feelings or the actual meaning of the message. That would be a misunderstanding!

Well, there is one thing you can do to resolve such conflicts. And that is to confront the person/s and tell them your side. That is the best way to resolve a conflict. But sometimes, one's pride hinders the process and may lead to further damage.

That's what happened to some of our friends in our YFC family. We had a little problem within in which mistakes were made, words were said, emotions flared and some feelings were hurt. But that is the beauty of this YFC family. Whenever we have problems regarding hidden and sometimes less hidden feelings, we tend to patch things up through open forums where all people involved in the conflict are gathered and are given a chance to open up and be heard. Aside from the people involved, there are also other people which serve as mediators in the reconciliation process.

This is a good way to resolve conflict especially if the people involved are too prideful or are having a difficult time to resolve the conflict themselves.

That's why I love this family because whenever someone, or in this case many poeple are down or having problems, we are more than willing to help them solve the problems and help them get back to their feet. That's how we love each other. I would be forever blessed to have these people around me.

God bless to all. Continue to inspire more people and keep your faith intact. Love you guys!

ARK??

Good day everyone! I just came home from a weekend activity, The Weekend Recollection! It was a fun activity, full of lessons and emotional moments.

After the recollection, we went to our friend's house to have fun. I found a dvd of the movie Evan Almighty. Yeah I know! The movie is like two years old. LOL! But still, I haven't watched it so I borrowed it. Well, anyways, I watched it. The start is funny, full of laughs and funny scenes. But what I liked about the movie is that it teaches a lot of lessons. It teaches us to value our family. Most of all, it teaches us to have faith in God. To be patient, to listen and to really trust God.

There would be a portion of our life where we face tough and sometimes insanely impossible problems. Well, impossible it may seem, but what we need to do is to have faith and complete trust God. It may be difficult to do that, I know! But one thing I always keep in my mind that God won't give us problems that we can't handle. Everything has a purpose. It may not be that obvious, but the purpose will be revealed in His time!

Another lesson is the meaning of ARK. Well, in the movie, Baxter really built an ark. It is like Noah's. But the real meaning of the word ARK is revealed in the end. It is an acronym for "Act of Random Kindness." To change the world, we should all start by an Act of Random Kindness. Start by doing kind acts, even if it's just a small thing to do but in God's eyes, all acts of kindness are equal. There are many opportunities to do these acts everyday. Helping your mother in chores, picking up garbage, lending a hand to a stranger, etc.

Let's trust in God always. Put your faith in Him. It will be worthwhile to trust Him. The reward is greater than the problem. God bless us all! Keep your faith!

Flores de Mayo?!

I'm back! And what a good news I received! I got rank 2 in my google page rank! WHEW! Well anyways, we had an overnight session with my churchmates to finish the sashes of our darling little queens of our parish's Flores de Mayo, or Flowers of May in English.

Flores de Mayo is a one-month activity in our church where we teach little kids about Jesus and about His mother Mary. It is important for a child to know all about Jesus! We teach them the word of God and His teachings by activities and games. There are lectures but you know kids, they don't seem to pay attention to these stuffs. Hehehe! And at the end of the month, we have this program to culminate the Flores de Mayo where kids from all over our parish gather. One of the highlights of this event is the procession where selected kids portray different roles of the Virgin Mary; Queen of Flowers, Queen of the Virgins, Queen of the Angels, etc. They wear sashes which we made so that al will know who they are.

This is a very fun event. This event will be full of games, activities and food. And most of all, it is very important not just for the games and activities that bond kids, but for the fact that this is for the Lord. Long live Flores de Mayo. God bless us all!

Testify to Love!

I would like to share this video we recorded in the year 2007 when i was still dancing and very much active in our church. The song is entitled "Testify to Love" by Avalon.

Hahaha! Sorry for the "noobness" of our video! But I am proud of this video because it shows our "talent" in dancing and also our bond. This is dedicated to the Lord and to all the people out there who thinks that they don't have the talent in dancing. Well, we admit that we are not that good in dancing, but one thing is important in praising and serving the Lord. You don't need talent! All you need is the heart to praise Him! (I am the one in the second row, guy in a blue shirt to the left of the screen ^__^)

Have fun watching this video!! God bless to all! God be praised!

Who Am I?

Good day everyone! Have you wondered who you are? Why these problems come to your life? Why you are so blessed with so many blessings? Why someone loves you? As if, all of your works are not in vain even if most people don't like it. That no matter how bad or evil you have done, still you receive blessings?!

I have asked these questions not just once, but many times. It's as if, every time I ask these questions, the answer changes. And the longer I am finding the answers, the more confused I am on living my life. I haven't found my purpose.

Everything changed when I knew the answer. When I joined Youth for Christ. It was there in my heart all along. I just need someone to confirm it! And the answer to the question Who am I is I am God's son. I am His most precious creation. I was born to be loved by Him. And because of that love, I am given blessings, graces and problems alike so that I can be who He wants me to be. Everything has a purpose in life.

All He wants, is for me to acknowledge Him, to love Him as He loves me. He wants me to have faith in Him always and never leave His side. And I don't intend to leave His side. I will have full faith in Him. I will praise and worship the Lord. I will magnify His name on high. For He is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. He is my provider and I am nothing without Him.

And I am challenging you all to find the answer to the question "Who am I?" To find inner peace. And to have faith in Him! To acknowledge that He created each and everyone of us because He loves us. And to thank Him by following His words by heart.

God bless you in your journey in life! Everything has a purpose! You just have to have faith in Him!

Singing for the Lord!

This weekend will be another busy weekend highlighted with the YFC evangelization camp. The camp starts at 5:00pm GMT+8. This will be held at the Luinab Elementary School. There will be may things to do and one of this is to lead the band and the audience in singing the praising songs for the Lord. This is a daunting and hard task because it requires you to be able to lead the people to sing for the Lord. If you sing too much, it would look like a concert, which is not good. And if you sing with little passion, the people around will not be able to feel the songs and some will tend not to cooperate in praising the Lord. But whatever the outcome is, one thing is for sure, all of this, the Youth Camp, is for the Lord and for spreading His words to others. To all Christians out there reading this post, pray for us so that we may attain victory. This will be a spiritual battle between His people and the forces of evil. God bless to us all!

YFC youth evangelization camp '09

This coming May 8-10, 2009, the YFC Sector A Chapter Bahayan will be holding a youth evangelization camp to evnagelize youth in our area and to bring them closer to Christ. This will be held at Luinab Elementary School. It will be a 3-day-2-night event highlighted by talks, games, group sessions, songs and evangelization.

This would be a great chance to be one step closer to God. Calling all youth in our area to join this event so that we will know Jesus Christ more and also to meet friends to share problems with and gain knowledge about our God, the Alpha and Omega.

This is an offering to our one true God, the King of Kings, Jesus Christ. And to all the YFCs, help us through prayers. Pray for us so that we may be successful in our camp. God bless to all of us!
